Story

Ethan Cunningham is an engineer from the United Global Remnant, the very last survivors of humanity.

By 2281, rumours of aliens, terrorists and a meteorite strike finally conscript Ethan back to a broken planet – 180 years after the Global War for resources forced decent society to the edge of Earth’s atmosphere.

He must pilot a series of increasingly advanced Tactical Combat Frames – the powerful mechs that assist the UGR – hack the security, identify enemies, and destroy all hostile scavenger forces.

But with his mind away from the safety of a colonised orbital space station, Ethan's first real task is to survive dystopia, Beyond Flesh and Blood.

So he fights.

He learns quickly.

He discovers the terrifying truth.

Despite Ethan’s best efforts, the UGR’s control base in Manchester, UK, reveals the impossibly dark secrets of a 23rd century Earth, and his original mission quickly spirals out of control.

Ethan Cunningham

The son of a genius robotics engineer (Father - Alex Cunningham) and a brilliantly gifted biologist (Mother – Wendy Cunningham), Ethan is himself an adept scientist and engineer with a strong family heritage.

The UGR had been keeping an eye on Ethan with high expectations; UGR officials and those closest to Ethan expected him to become an Elite pilot.

Ethan may have failed his Elite pilot tests – and the expectations of everyone around him – but as part of the Manchester operation, he must make the decision to go Beyond Flesh and Blood.

Frank Brittain "The Sarge"

Frank is a true UGR hero and the most resilient Regimental Sergeant Major seen within the UGR military forces for many years.

He lives by graft, ignoring the privilege of elite Prototype pilots in favour of new worldly resilience, and traditional discipline. His own squad, many operational ground troops and even UGR Officers of higher rank often look to him for leadership.

Brittain is both veteran and active, continuing pioneer work in hostile cell destruction in high-risk environments while securing strategic points on Earth for UGR control.

The UGR Commanders know Frank Brittain is a leading close-combat UGR force in the field, and in Manchester. Frank is not an officer however due to his wealth of experience and military prowess it is a foolish officer that does not take heed of Frank.

Javinder Chowdri

Javinder Chowdri is an intelligent but often cold and pragmatic man that is dedicated to the UGR cause and tows the UGR line through and through.

Javinder is an old friend of Ethan’s parents. Since the suspicious death of Ethan’s mother Wendy – followed by the disappearance sometime later of Alex Cunningham – he feels it is his duty to take care of Ethan any way he can.

As a highly skilled IO and CFO Javinder is usually assigned to handling the Elite pilots or more pressing strategic roles in the UGR intelligence division, however he uses his rank and influence in the UGR military to be assigned as Ethan’s CFO for the mission to Manchester.

Alex Cunnningham

Alex Cunningham’s whereabouts: currently unknown.

Father of Ethan Cunningham and husband of the late Wendy Cunningham, Alex is a genius at the top of his field in robotic engineering for Astralis Engineers.

Alex’s work in robotics is wide ranging and the UGR utilised some of this work for military applications, encompassing frame technology from engineering frames to full combat frames. Alex is at the forefront of robotic technology and engineering for the UGR.

Alex left on a UGR expedition to the Earth 5 years ago when Ethan was only 14 years old, the expedition team disappeared shortly after reportedly arriving on the surface of the Earth.

Mk.1 - Tactical Combat Frame

Tactical Combat Frame – designed to give advanced rapid movement, slow motion running and gunning abilities, and stealth camouflage. These core mechanics are integral to gameplay and are used to access hackable, real world environments that have been re-imagined into a desolate playscape.

The T.C.F has a Central Gravity Control Point, which manipulates gravity for short periods of time; performing powered jumps, extremely fast dodging, and to cause shock waves.

The T.C.F can wirelessly hack into environment security systems and door/gate controls enabling you to advance through levels.

Mk.2 - Engineering Frame

Faster, agile and more dextrous than the Mk.1; the Mk.2 Engineering Frame is often labelled as the baby brother of the Mk.1. Building on the mechanical innovation of the Mk.1, the Mk.2 trades a little brute strength in favour of finer control and precision.

Extendable arms allow it a much longer reach with hands that have superior manual dexterity – invaluable for operations that require a higher level of precision.

The Mk.2 Engineering Frame is also heavily armoured and immensely strong. In fact, it would hold the title of ‘Powerhouse’ if not for the existence of its big brother the Mk.1.
